Everything You Need to Feel Confident About Therapy
What issues can therapy help with?
Therapy can help with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, I offer both online and in-person therapy. Online sessions are conducted via a secure video platform, providing flexibility for those who prefer remote sessions.
How do I book an appointment?
You can contact me through the website, email, or phone to schedule a session. I also offer a free 15-minute initial consultation to discuss your needs before committing to therapy.
How long does therapy usually last?
The duration of therapy depends on your individual needs. I offer short-term therapy (goal-focused) and open-ended therapy (for deeper exploration). We can discuss the best approach during your assessment session.
Can therapy be beneficial even if I’m not in a crisis?
Absolutely! Therapy is not just for crises—it can help with personal growth, self-awareness, communication skills, and overall emotional well-being.
How often do sessions take place?
Sessions are typically once a week, but this may vary based on your needs. We can discuss frequency during our initial consultation.
How long is each session?
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
Where do in-person sessions take place?
In-person sessions are held in North-West London in my consulting room. The exact location will be provided upon booking.
Do you offer couples and family therapy?
Yes! I work with individuals, couples, and families, helping them improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build healthier relationships.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an assessment where we explore your background, concerns, and goals. This helps us determine how we will work together going forward.
How do I pay for my session?
Payment is required at the time of booking. I accept bank transfers and other payment methods (please inquire for details).
What is your cancellation policy?
The practice in psychodynamic psychotherapy is charging for missed or cancelled sessions is adopted unless otherwise agreed. There are usually three holiday breaks per annum at Christmas, Easter and during the summer. This policy is undertaken as therapy is a commitment by both parties and as such the session time is exclusively allocated to the client and not normally re-allocated in the event of absence.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not currently work directly with insurance providers, but I can provide receipts for reimbursement if your insurer covers therapy sessions.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, all sessions are strictly confidential. However, there are rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law.
Do you follow ethical guidelines?
Yes, I am BACP-registered, which means I adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework to ensure professional and ethical standards.
Can I bring someone with me to my session?
For individual therapy, sessions are one-on-one. However, if you’re attending couples or family therapy, multiple participants will be involved.
Can I switch from in-person to online therapy if needed?
Yes, you can choose to have sessions online or in person, depending on your preference and availability.
